Every number here comes from listings we check at retailers through the day, and only from those in stock when we checked. A caliber's price is its median cost per round; a gun model's is the median price across every variant of it, which we call its street price. Medians keep one loss leader or one overpriced listing from moving the figure.
A move compares today with the median of recent days rather than with yesterday, so a single sale does not register as a market shift. When a caliber or model is near the bottom of its own range, it is a good time to buy; near the top, waiting usually pays.
